Shoot!

Shootin' well there's not a much better way to let go of some tension. While I can assure you all my father would have been humiliated had he seen me pop off 60 or more rounds at a target 20 feet away and miss 58 of those shots! Truth be told even Andrew & Isaiah wondered off after I emptied the first 2 clips with no hit! Andrew goes off with friends from time to time to shoot guns, Isaiah & I were his partners in crime last weekend. Poor guy had to leave me be, if you know me well enough you know you can't teach me anything! 'I just always have to learn the hard way' (my moms voice echoes in my head). Isaiah on the other hand did really well, of course he listens to his teacher!

We'll Miss You Grandpa

Andrews Grandpa died on Tuesday February 10, 2009. He was an amazing man and he will be greatly missed by many. Polly has been his bird for 30 some odd years and was 18 or so when he got her. Now she is part of our family and we are happy to have her, even though only Andrew is allowed to touch her!

And He Chops it...again

Andrews been threatening it for awhile now but today he did it! He chopped off his georgous, silky, curly hair. Now I understand many of you never got to see his locks in their prime but he really did have incredible hair! Lucky for me, I have a fabulous stylist and he hooked Andrew up! Thanks Keith. So here's the new Andrew, handsome as ever but with shorter hair!

Toothless!

So Isaiah lost his two front teeth within two days of each other. He was so excited when the toothfairy brought him money! He usually opts to save his teeth, instead of giving them to the toothfairy. Maybe now he realizes it's better to give 'em up instead of keeping them in a baggie!

The Begininng

Well.. I have finally decided to take the dive and try this BLOG thing everyone is so crazy about! Mom used to say 'I don't always have to follow the crowd" but I think if I do it in the name of keeping in touch with family and friends, she'd be proud.

To bring everyone up to speed... In 2008 I married my best friend Andrew and officially joined one of the coolest families I've ever met. Seriously- ALL of them are awesome. I completely lucked out in the in-law department. After having an amazing wedding with our friends and family (thanks again to our generous families) we started the process of Isaiah's adoption (Thanks to all those who donated to our cause). That has been our main focus through the last half of 2008. Unfortunately we've found ourselves caught up in some red tape and this is taking MUCH longer than I ever would have thought. Good thing Andrew is a patient man because without his support I'm sure I would have eaten 'attorney' for breakfast more than once!

Other than that mess 2008 has brought us many things to be grateful for, Isaiah is a smart healthy kid with an amazing zest for life. I love his smile and his curiosity. I even love his attitude! He has lost a few teeth, begun reading, and has experimented with basketball, skateboarding, long boarding, snowboarding, Kung Fu and even Mohawks, or as I like to call it, Fro-hawks.

Marriage is better than I would have ever imagined, although not much has changed since we were unmarried. I just love waking up next to my best friend and knowing that no matter what the day, month or year brings, I will end it with my boys!

Andrew still enjoys fishing, of all kinds! I know he wishes he had time to go more! He works hard and unfortunately like so many others running the rat race, work is what we mostly do! I have recently taken up cooking, well I always cooked but I mean like 'recipe' cooking, not 'box instruction' cooking. Turns out I really enjoy it. Hopefully you will get some new recipes out of me on this blog thing too. And reading... Andrew and I both enjoy a good book, at one time we were sharing Twilight, I don't need to get into how that went down! So, if anyone out there has any good book recommendations or recipes... send em' my way. And to those of you who can't believe your eyes... YES, I am getting old!
